Supporting Documentation: Archived, Losses of Public Property as per the Public Accounts of Canada

As of February 2024, this dataset has been archived and replaced by the Losses of Public Money or Property as per the Public Accounts of Canada dataset.

As of 2025, the following columns were renamed to remain in sync with the rest of the Public Accounts datasets:

• FSCL_YR was renamed to Fscl-yr_Ex-fin
• YR_LOSS_RPTD was renamed to Yr-loss-rptd_Ex-fin-perte-rppt
• INCDNT_TYPE_FR was renamed to Incdt-type_Type-incdt_fra
• MINC was renamed to Min-code
• MINF was renamed to Min-portfolio_Portefeuille-min_fra
• DepartmentNumber-Numéro-de-Ministère was renamed to Dept-nbr_No-min
• DEPT_FR_DESC was renamed to Dept-name_Nom-min_fra

Losses of public money or property—Update to cases reported in previous years’ Public Accounts of Canada

The data files contain both the original loss, as reported in the public accounts (table 4, 4a, 4b and 4c), as well as updates to these existing losses (table 4d). Original losses are indicated by having the column Incdt-type_Type-incdt_fra as blank, while updates to previously reported losses will display the original year the loss was reported in this column.
