Losses of public money or property—Update to cases reported in previous years’ Public Accounts of Canada

The data files contain both the original loss, as reported in the public accounts (as found in Volume III, Tables 4, 4a, 4b and 4c of the Public Accounts of Canada), as well as updates to these existing losses (Volume III, Table 4d). Original losses are indicated by having the column “YR_LOSS_RPTD” as blank, while updates to previously reported losses will display the original year the loss was reported in this column.

Note: Amount not expected to be recovered (NOT_XPTD_RCVRD_AMT) and amount expected to be recovered in subsequent years (C_XPTD_SY_RCVR_AMT) for cases before the Courts (Canada Revenue Agency's estimate of the amount of tax evaded or fraudulently obtained), which can be found under column INCDNT_EN_DESC, can only be estimated following a court conviction. Therefore there are not presented.
