General Notes

This dataset has been archived as of the Public Accounts of Canada 2017, as Table 9.3 will no longer be part of Volume I, Section 9.

The blank cells in the dataset are due to the fact that an account has been closed or that the legal name of a Ministry has changed.

As of 2025, the following columns were renamed to remain in sync with the rest of the Public Accounts datasets:

Notes:

The name for line item “Government and Crown corporations” was changed to “Government, Crown corporations and other entities”
The name for line item “Adjustments” was changed to “Adjustments and other”
The name for line item “Other comprehensive income” was changed to “Other comprehensive income or (loss)”

Notes:

The name for line item “Adjustments and other” was changed to “Equity adjustments and other”
Both line items “Financial assistance” and “Other” were removed and data now appears under “Government, Crown corporations and other entities”

Notes:

For fiscal years beginning on or after January 1, 2011, enterprise Crown corporations and other government business enterprises transitioned from Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as required by the Public Sector Accounting Board. IFRS transition adjustments reflect the impact on the opening equity of enterprise Crown corporations and other government business enterprises as a result of this transition to IFRS
The name for line item “Other comprehensive income or (loss)” was changed to “Other comprehensive income (loss)”
