Notes:
- The budgetary details by allotment are published in Volume III of the Public Accounts of Canada, Section 10 - Other Government-Wide Information.
- The dataset presents a distribution of budgetary appropriations by allotment as approved by Treasury Board and consists of three columns. The first column presents budgetary details by allotment by Ministry and Departments and agencies. The following two columns present the following amounts:
- ALLOT_AFFECT: Amounts allotted by Treasury Board and available for use in the current year.
- CRNT_YR_USED_AMT: Alloted amounts that were spent in the current year.
2014 data
Notes:
- Agriculture and Agri-Food (ministry): Order in Council P.C. 2013‑1052 transferred all of the powers, duties and functions under the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Act, except the powers, duties or function under subsection 4(2) of that Act, from the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food to the Minister of Health, effective October 7, 2013. Prior to the transfer, non-statutory expenditures of approximately $274,084,657 were approved by the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food. Previous year's amounts have been restated by $782,055,725.
- Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (ministry): Order in Council P.C. 2013‑0872 transferred the control and supervision of the portion of the federal public administration known as the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency and to preside over the Agency, from the Minister of Health to the Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, effective July 15, 2013. Prior to the transfer, non-statutory expenditures of approximately $4,159,514 were approved by the Minister of Health. Previous year's amounts have been restated by $52,388,610.
- Office of Infrastructure of Canada (ministry): Order in Council P.C. 2013‑0869 transferred the control and supervision of that portion of the federal public administration known as the Office of Infrastructure of Canada, from the Minister of Transport to the President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada, effective July 15, 2013. Prior to the transfer, non-statutory expenditures of approximately $1,113,557,069 were approved by the Minister of Transport. Previous year's amounts have been restated by $3,752,656,392.
- The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Inc (department): Order in Council P.C. 2014‑0144 transferred the control and supervision of that portion of the federal public administration in the Department of Transport known as the Unit Responsible for Federal Bridges in the Region of Montreal, from the Department of Transport to the Office of Infrastructure of Canada, effective February 13, 2014.

- Fiscal year 2015 is the last year the budgetary details by allotment are published in Volume III of the Public Accounts of Canada.
- National Capital Commission (department): Order in Council P.C. 2015‑0194 designated the Minister of Employment and Social Development as the Minister for the purposes of the National Capital Act, effective February 9, 2015.
2016 data
Notes:
- From fiscal year 2016 onward, the budgetary details by allotment are published in Volume II of the Public Accounts of Canada, starting with Section 2, under each ministry.
- The budgetary details by allotment report provides a distribution of budgetary appropriations by allotment as approved by Treasury Board pursuant to section 31 of the Financial Administration Act, together with related current year expenditures.
- The budgetary details by allotment report presents four amount columns:
- ALLOT_AFFECT: Amounts allotted by Treasury Board and available for use in the current year.
- CRNT_YR_USED_AMT: Alloted amounts that were spent in the current year.
- C_LPSD_OVREXP_AMT: Alloted amounts unused in the current year; usually the allotments minus the expenditures minus the amounts available for use in subsequent years or (the excess of spending over authorities granted).
- AVLBL_SBSQT_YR_AMT: Alloted amounts unused in the current year that are carried forward to a subsequent year.
