Supporting Documentation: Detailed information on Acquisition of Machinery and Equipment, as per the Public Accounts of Canada

As of the December 2024 update, two new columns (EQPMT_TYPE_EN and TYPE_EQPMT_FR) where added to map the data, as broken out by Object Code, to the expenditure columns shown within the "Acquisition of machinery and equipment" table in Volume III, Section 5 of the HTML version of the Public Accounts of Canada.

In June 2025, these new columns were also added to the data files for past fiscal years, and past files that were previously broken out by language have been combined in the bilingual format that has been used since 2022.

Please note: organisations that are not large enough to have their own Department Financial and Material Management System (DFMS), have their financial data hosted in the DFMS of a larger organisation. And in the past, the expenditures of these smaller organisations were rolled up into the larger organisation's data in this dataset. As of June 2024, the data for these smaller organisations has been broken out as their own entries in the data files for 2017 and later.

As of the Fall 2025 release, the following columns were renamed to improve readability and bilingualism:
